9. The Misteries of Auto-Bidder

A dramatic title, isn't it? And for a very simple tool.

Or not.

I've mentioned an auto-bidder before, but in case you missed it, allow me to direct you to Advanced Strategies.

Wisely used, auto-bidder can be very powerful weapon. But, misused, it can become your worst enemy. So, it is very important to know when and how to use it. In my opinion, if you are not sure, it's better not to use auto-bidder at all. But maybe I'm just a coward. Read some tips and then decide for yourself:

  • Use it against insecure bidders - you will learn how to recognize them quickly;
  • Use it if you are a badass;
  • Use it for winning WBF auctions;
  • Don't leave if you didn't check and recheck your auto-bidder settings;
  • Don't forget about your budget!

How to set Auto-Bidder in online penny auctions

Let's say you think this auction will end at the price of $3. You can set your auto-bidder to start bidding at $2.90, to stop at $3.25 (because you are not willing to pay more than that) and to use not more than 10 TCredits. Don't forget to hit "ACTIVATE" button when you're done. Auto-bidder will place first bid at $2.90 and it will keep bidding every time when you are outbid until price reaches $3.25 or until you spend 10 bids. And if the price never hits $2.90, none of your bids will be placed. Also, if price goes beyond $3.25, someone else will win an auction.

Of course, you can change settings, activate and deactivate auto-bidder any time during auction. Even with auto-bidder on, you can place bids manually. Just remember, after 45 minutes of inactivity you will be disconnected from TripleClicks website. You can enable alert to warn you before that happens or, even better, you can install plug-in for your browser to prevent this. I strongly recommend using Mozilla Firefox.

Use auto-bidder with care. And happy bidding!
Emma

P.S. Wave3 is great for getting free TCredits and MRPs. Same as T-Time and Pick-the-Price. Whole this blog is about bidding for free (or almost free), so, join the wave and enter the contests!
