3. All You Need To Know About Types of Pricebenders, MRP and TCredits

Hello!

Planned to post earlier, but Internet God was displeased.

In the last post I promised I will explain different types of Pricebenders penny auctions and MRP. So, lets start with auctions!

There is 7 types and it is always highlighted (even in the auction schedule), so you can't miss it. Of course, all Pricebenders auctions are penny auctions, so price always starts at $0.01 and every bid increases it by 1 cent:

  • Ordinary auction - The most common, general rules apply (1 bid = 1 TCredit, auto-bidding allowed, you earn 5 MRP with every bid you place, anyone can bid, free shipping);
  • 1WA - Auction opened only for bidders who have never won Pricebenders penny auction before. 1WA is the great auction to start with! "Pro bidders" can't participate!
  • WBF - My favorite! Winner will receive all his/her bids back! So, if you place 200 bids and win, you will get your 200 TCredits back after the auction. Of course, the winning price is usually higher than in ordinary auctions, but it is still a great saving. You can win items for 10-20% of their price, so you can save 80-90%. And no TCredit cost! Well, you will need few hundred TCredits to win this penny auction. Or your lucky charm!
  • NAB - No auto-bidding. Don't even think about this auction if you must leave soon or if you are sleepy;
  • New - The first auction on newly added item. My tip: avoid, price usually goes high;
  • Last - The very last chance to win that specific item on Pricebenders. If you really must have it, go for it. If not... price will be probably high.
  • DP - Double Member Reward Points; means, every bid you place will get you 10 MRP, instead of usual 5. Winning price is usually higher than in ordinary auctions; some bidders don't even want to win the product, they just want MRP. Do your own calculation, but I usually avoid this auctions... if I don't need MRP, of course.

Little explanation: when I say "high winning price" or "higher winning price" I usually mean "more than 3% of the retail price". So, everything higher than $6 for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is high for me.

And now the meaning of MRP. As I mentioned in the GUIDE, MRP is TripleClicks currency. Every item can be purchased with dollars, TCredits or MRP. The only exception is: TCredits can't be bought with TCredits.

You are collecting MRP with different actions: every time when you enter Pick-The-Price contest you will win 5 MRP, every placed bid will earn you 5 (or 10) MRP, when you buy something from TripleClicks store you will be rewarded with certain amount of MRP (ie: buying 200 TCredits will get you 72 MRP, 1$ e-book - 5 MRP and buying gallon of natural laundry detergent/softener for $27.72 will get you 14 MRP). But, what is the dollar value of MRP?

MRP actually doesn't have $ value. Let me give you few examples. You can buy Apple iPad mini with 23,500 MRP - that means, the value of each MRP is 1.4 cents. And, if you want to use your MRP to buy 10 TCredits you will need 542 MRP, which means 1 MRP = 1.1 cents! But! Toshiba 32" LCD HDTV costs 17,856 MRP only! That means, in this case, 1 MRP = 2.1 cents! So, if you want to use your MRP for buying from TripleClicks, calculate first!

TCredits work almost the same. You can win them from T-Time and Pick-the-Price, you can get them from auction or buy them with dollars or MRP. Value of 1 TCredit is $0.15 if you want to buy Kindle Fire HD or that Toshiba TV. However, some 1$ e-books can be purchased with a single TCredit, and the Diamond Apartment at Dubai with 2,323,334 TCredits, so, the value of 1 TCredits is $1 for the e-book, or $0.18 for the apartment. But, if you want 6 or more $1 e-books, you can buy 10 TCredits for $5.90 and buy books with TCredits! Even better: don't buy TCredits, win them!

As you can see, TripleClicks is selling really everything, even services. So, if you have something to sell, you can register HERE. Don't worry, you still can sell that items in your physical store or have it listed somewhere else. Registration and listing your products is free.

I really tried to explain how this works, but if you did't understand something, mail me or post your question in comments.

All the best,
Emma

P.S. Just noticed! If you use 100 TCredits for bidding you will earn enough MRP to buy 10 TCredits! It's not bad, especially if your TCredits were won from the games or penny auction.
